Dampen the mouth end and remove the ring. then I toast the end of the cigar and puff lightly till lit. Once it gets going I rotate the cigar as I smoke it. Puff, rotate; puff rotate. I have noticed if I smoke too quickly the cigar tends to go soft on me.
