WebDec 8, 2009 · Quite awhile ago a person could buy pump packing that was graphite impregnated and later on some more modern materials like teflon. I worked one summer forming pump packing with a large hammer and forming tools (probably the main reason I came to my senses and went to college) LOL. I need to repack a water pump on a Cat 20.
