WebThe illegal gherries which has occupied almost entire shoreline of Chilika Lake has drastically impacted the lake biodiversity, hydrology and fishery productivity. In last 2 years, Chilika Development Authority has freed around 151 km2 of lake area which was under the illegal prawn gherries.
