React components are typically re-rendered automatically when a state change or props change occurs, but sometimes users may need to force components to re-render. WebConditionally rendering will completely remove the nodes from the DOM. Hiding with css only will not. Theoretically speaking, less nodes = better performance. Also imo I’d want the benefit of the line of code that says “when this conditional is true, render the component” for the self documentation, and declarative code style purposes.

Honestly, formik or those controlled form lib would be a better fit for the job, I am not devaluing react-hook-form here but the right tool for the right job.
